Where to?

Hi, friend!  I'm Corry.

So I’m reading 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs…it’s a devotional for unlocking your most courageous self.  AMAZING read and I highly encourage you to get yourself a copy of it!!

Today’s topic was about doing your NEXT BEST STEP.  Annie says, that in order to get to where you want to go, you have to be brave enough to work WHERE YOU ARE right now.

Maybe you have big dreams or really hard stuff you are working on….but she says to “Be Brave in the spot God has placed you in”.  Don’t long for the next season or for what somebody else is doing….just focus on your next step.  Do what’s right in front of you.

She also says that good planning and hard work lead to prosperity.  So plan out your steps and make them count.  Very few people rise to the top quickly.  I always laugh when people say “wow…they were an overnight success!”  Nope….you just missed the 10 years of hard work it took them to get to where they are now!

I tend to be a “big picture” person. I’m a dreamer and a planner.  Executing the tiny details is harder for me.  Unfortunately, that means that big projects either take me forever or I have to clear my plate and really focus on the next steps to get me to where I want to go.  And then I have to DO THE WORK!!!!

People often say that it must be nice to work from home…my house is clean…and I get to go out to lunch….and have coffee with friends!!!  In fact, the opposite of all those things is true.

I still have breakfast dishes in my sink and it’s 2:49pm.  I haven’t been out to lunch in FOREVER!  And I only have coffee with friends if it’s at my kitchen table and we’re chatting about all things business.  The reality is that I’m trying to scarf down a warm salad at my desk as I write this post.  I’m waiting on the girls to text me that they are done with their makeup test at school.  And I’m listening to the dog bark at the FedEx guy delivering goodies across the street.

But even with all of the chaos, I know that my next best step is completing my social media content for the week, tweaking my slideshow and welcome talk for my 2020 Senior Team this week, and then paying bills.  All the other stuff will wait.

So what’s your next best step when looking at your goals for the year?  The best way to get there is by doing one thing a day to help get you there!

Blessings,

Corry
