Hi friends!!
I am so excited to share a few tips that I’ve picked up along the way with cameras or photography as a business. I get questions all the time and it’s so nice when I can help someone get a quick win!!
So for today I thought I’d share a quick camera tip…whether you’re using a fancy DSLR camera or a smartphone camera…doesn’t matter….when taking inside pictures, put the windows to your back or side and have your subject face the window or natural light source.
Do you sweet how I just pulled a chair up for our sweet Lola next to the front window and that beautiful light came streaming in…even see those catch lights in her eyes (that light that makes things people look alive)? She’s facing the window and I’m off to the side.
Don’t have your subjects put their backs to the window (unless you really have a great camera where you can adjust the settings and have reflectors to fill the light back in on them…and to be honest, most of us don’t have those things just lying around.
So the next time you get ready to snap a quick pic….pause and look for the light.
Happy snapping!
