Summer is a gorgeous young lady!!! She is funny, has great vision, and knows exactly what she wants. When she said she was looking to shoot somewhere different and in a place that she goes with her friends I was totally up for it!!! Yes, it was a little bumpy….yes, it was dusty…yes, there were lots of people around….yes, it was buggy….but OH MY GOLLY…..what a BEAUTIFUL location!!!!!!!! I was thrilled that she had chosen this spot. When we moved past all the ick, we found some really great little hidden gems of beauty. I LOVE finding spots that are quite unexpected. I don’t always see things the way others see them…I see a different kind of beauty. Sometimes among the challenges and the yuck are where the beauty unfolds.
We found the cutest little rustic boat…ok, it’ll probably never float again, but it made for a great photo op!!! We ended up asking a guy move his kayak over so we could get into the boat and at the edge of the water. If you saw the behind the scenes of this spot, you’d laugh….nowhere near perfect, but the light, the girl, and the boat were PERFECT!!!!
Then we hopped in the jeep and went off-roading to another spot where we could get the water and the jeep in our shots. The bugs and mud were crazy….but oh so gorgeous!!!! I was thrilled with Summer’s vision for this set of shots!!! She LOVES her jeep and wanted to make sure we included this part of her life. She loves taking the top off and getting into the “jeep life”!! I always encourage Seniors to include things they enjoy into their Portrait Sessions. Summer can dress up and be a girly girl….but then she can throw on her jeans, her camo Jeep hat, and boots to mucking around in the mud! I love it!!!
Speaking of a beautiful girl in a a beautiful dress…..I am DYING over her water shots!!! I was thrilled that Summer was brave enough to hop in the water for this set of images!!! She balanced on a tiny ledge barefoot and with lots of onlookers!!! She was soaked by the end….but boy did she knock it out of the park with these gorgeous shots!!!! Yay Summer!!!!!!
And then we dried off (yes, I got in too…hello….you gotta get the shot!) we threw jeans and a jersey on her and she jumped out on the football field to capture some memories with her sweet Daddy. At our consultation, she was adamant that we include some shots of her on the field with her Daddy because that’s where she’s grown up ….standing on the sidelines while he coaches under those Friday Night Lights!!!! Love that these memories are so special to them both!!!!!
Thanks again Summer for being so daring and brave! You are beautiful and spunky….never forget it!!!
