Hi, friend!  I'm Corry.

Lots of little girls love shiny things! And my obsession with jewelry began when I fell in love with my Grandmother Eller’s Princess Ring. She wore it on her right hand and I’d admire it and twirl it on her finger all through Sunday morning Church Services. If I was really still, she’d even take it off her finger and let me try it on. She was an amazing lady! Funny, charismatic, sassy (Heaven help you if you got on her bad side), a wonderful cook, and could make anything. She was a seamstress and worked in our local factory cutting dress patterns. My Grandmother had a lot of love…and a lot of class. She used to say that a lady was never fully dressed without her ear-bobs on and her lips done. She always had her nails and face painted (as she called it). There was also her shoe obsession…as a little girl, they would only receive one pair of shoes each year. If they wore them out, they’d have to put cardboard inside until it was time for their new pair. My Grandmother swore that if she had money in her pocket, she’d never have cardboard in her shoes again. Needless to say, her house had shoe boxes in every nook and cranny! She also had quite the jewelry collection. She had every color, style, & size! The only real jewelry she owned though was her wedding set from my Grandfather, her wedding set from her second husband after my Grandfather had passed on, and her Princess Ring that I twirled on Sunday mornings.

I now have that special Princess Ring. I wear it on my right hand and my girls often look at it in church on Sunday mornings too.

Her love of jewelry was definitely passed on to me! And my only real jewelry is my wedding set and my Princess Ring. Which is how I like it…because I’m very sentimental. But listen, I LOVE some fashion jewelry as we like to call it!! I have necklaces in every color, size, and shape….a tray of earrings….and bracelets galore. Actually, I find a lot of it hiding out in Grace’s room these days. But I never feel fully ready for my day if I don’t have some sort of jewelry on.

So as I was thinking about my upcoming Senior Model shoot…I thought I’d share some of my favorite places that I like to shop for inexpensive jewelry. And wouldn’t you know it…my Charming Charlie’s box was sitting on my front porch when I got home from walking the dog. Perfect addition to my blog post today!!! 🙂

I always try to support local businesses as much as possible! I often stop into Lauren’s Boutique, Cameo, or Fanci Friends to see what they have in their jewelry sections. (I always seem to find SOMETHING!!) 🙂 But sometimes when you need a specific color or style of jewelry for a certain outfit…you really have to be able to filter your search and not drive all around town hunting for something.

I LOVE Charming Charlie’s!!!!!! Grace needed a necklace for our upcoming model shoot, I typed in what I was looking for…sent her a screenshot…got her approval….and three days later it arrived on my front porch! They are very well priced, great quality, and have a selection like nobody’s business. We visited one of their stores during a recent trip to DC….and oh my gosh…talk about HEAVEN!!!! Get ready..it’s ORGANIZED BY COLOR!!!!! Stop it!! Seriously…genius!!!

I also LOVE Target for great jewelry finds. I especially like to check out their clearance section. They are always marking down necklaces and you can get some great finds for half the regular price if you’ll wait just a little while.

Another fave is the Banana Republic  jewelry section!  I can always find a great classic gold or silver piece in there. In fact..most of my gold necklaces are from BR. They have lasted for years!

I also LOVE Stella & Dot! I have amazing pieces from when I hosted a party for my friend Heather. Hosting a party is the way to go…you get lots of great jewelry with fabulous discounts.

I’ve also found really great little shops on Etsy. Type in what you’re looking for and something amazing always pops up. Another great way to support small business owners!!

I hope this was helpful for your next jewelry search…and remember that if you see me out and about without any jewelry on…stay far away from me because I’m probably VERY SICK!!!! hahahahahaha

Blessings,
Corry
