Hi, friend!  I'm Corry.

What all business owners need to know about content creation in your business…

As humans, we all have different learning styles and ways that we take in information from the world around us. In grad school, our program was focused on teaching through the Multiple Intelligences. Howard Gardner developed this theory after years of studying human development and behavior. He boiled down learning styles into eight basic categories:

  • Spatial intelligence.
  • Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence.
  • Musical intelligence.
  • Linguistic intelligence.
  • Logical-mathematical intelligence.
  • Interpersonal intelligence.
  • Intrapersonal intelligence.
  • Naturalistic intelligence.

We all fall into one of the these learning styles….there are crossovers…but there are generally one or two that we THRIVE in. So you may be thinking, “yeah Corry, but what does any of this have to do with me as a business owner?”

content creation in your business

If you are a content creator or have any component of education in your business, this foundational knowledge can be super helpful. As a classroom teacher, we learned to integrate multiple learning styles to each lesson we designed. For instance, if we were teaching letter recognition we would sing the alphabet (musical), we would use our bodies to make letters (kinesthetic), we would read books and identify letters we were learning (linguistic), we would draw the letters in the air with our fingers (spatial), we would have alphabet games in our center time (interpersonal and logical/mathematical), we would go on letter hunts while on the playground (naturalistic), we sent home activities for the children to do individually (intrapersonal). Do you see how throughout our kindergarten day, we were covering all the learning styles found within our classroom?

Okay, so circling this back around to you as a business owner and content creator….your ideal clients each still have various ways they LOVE to take in information and learn new things. Who LOVES podcasts or audio books? Who LOVES going to workshops and retreats? Who LOVES to read blog posts? Who needs to sit quietly and consume YouTube videos alone? Who LOVES a catchy tune that draws them in? Who can conceptualize an idea and literally see it in their mind and then create it? See how we simply grow up but still maintain our dominant learning styles? It’s literally part of the fabric of who we are.

As a content creator or educator…take a hard look at where you are creating content and how you are creating it…then look at how you can diversify it so that more and more people will be able to consume it in various ways.

I’ll give you a quick example: Melissa and I own The Business Reboot. It’s an educational hub for small business owners, helping them fall back in love with the business of their business so that they can grow, scale, and pivot throughout various seasons of their lives. We started with a Retreat. Hello….we LOVE people and are definitely interpersonal learners ourselves. We learn best and teach best in a group environment. We then started a podcast. We enjoy learning on the go and knew that this would serve an audience in a completely different way. Then we created a Mastermind, again for our interpersonal learners…but it’s also for intrapersonal learners because so much of the work is actually done on your own in your own time. In our Mastermind, we have a mindset focused call…for our conceptual learners and then a strategy focused call for our kinesthetic, “put it into action” learners. We also have a pdf that goes along with each month for our linguistic learners who need to see the words on paper. I think the only thing we didn’t cover is the naturalistic learner…but Melissa ain’t about to hike because she doesn’t do outside…jk…but no really, I think she has a shirt that says “I’m Indoorsy”!!!

We are passionate about helping you serve your community in a multitude of ways. So many business owners just throw things out into the world hoping something will stick like spaghetti against the wall…but if you create in a strategic and helpful way, meeting the needs of those you hope to help…your impact will be far greater!!!! And that’s what we all want…impact!!!

content creation in your business

Melissa and I are creating something new to help those of you who want to add education to your business. We will walk through all of these learning modalities in depth and help you figure out what people want to know from you, how you can serve best, ways to diversify your teaching, and getting it all set up and LAUNCHED out into the world!!!! It’s going to be epic and we truly don’t think there is anything else like it out there. If you are a small business owner and you are at a place where you feel like education is your next addition in your business, then BUILT is for you!!! You’ll get 10 months of support in a Mastermind setting where we will do a deep dive in your business and help you build out your first educational offering….or build out your offer suite! Due to the massive accessibility to us and the attention we will be giving to each business owner, the spots are very limited and we actually already have people joining us privately before we’ve publicly launched. So don’t miss this opportunity to work with us and have something amazing to launch in 2024!!!

You can head over to thebusinessreboot.com or email me here to get more information!!!
