Hi, friend!  I'm Corry.

Whether you are a mom wanting better pictures while documenting your daily lives with your sweet family, or you own a business and are looking for better ways to showcase your services or products….I’ve got you covered with a few of these quick photography tips for your smartphone today!

These were all taken in my own kitchen with my YL products from under my kitchen sink and I simply used my iphone. Nothing fancy and super quick…that’s how I roll!!!

Tip #1:

Face the LIGHT!!!!! You want your subject…whether it’s your precious two year old or your bedazzled cup or your Thieves Cleaner….make sure they are FACING the light source (typically a window is best). You can see in the picture below that the light source is behind the products….simply pivot so that the window is to your back as you snap the pic! 🙂

Tip #2:

Clear away the CLUTTER!!! You can see that I left my cute spring decor sitting on the counter as I snapped this picture. Unless it is part of the image you are creating as a prop…it’s distracting and your eye will be drawn there. So in this case, simply move it off the counter so you can minimize the clutter.

Tip #3:

If you have portrait mode on your phone…use it! It’s great for bringing your subject into focus and creating bokeh (the blurry background that’s so popular in DSLR photography). This highlights your subject.

Tip #4:

Use a preset or some sort of editing software to tweak your image so that it can be the best it can be!!!! It will also help your images to look more consistent and cohesive as you take more and more pictures. I have a GREAT bundle of presets that you can find HERE…I used the Emma preset on this image and I love how it brightened the light and warmed up the color just a bit. It also sharpened it just a tad!! You can download the FREE Lightroom app for your smartphone and it’s super easy to use!!!

Again, here my lightroom presets for only $29!!!!! Such a GREAT price for these fun tools that make your images look amazing!!!! CLICK HERE!!

I hope you enjoyed these quick photography tips for your smartphone!! Happy shooting!!!

Blessings,

Corry
