I met this wonderful couple while I was photographing a dear friend’s military homecoming. I saw these two sweet ladies hanging out without a photographer and I asked if they wanted me to snap a pic of them with their Marines as they returned. While everyone was hugging, kissing, and enjoying homecoming bliss…I snapped a few shots and later sent them to the ladies knowing in my heart how great a homecoming feels. The feeling of your significant other’s return from dangerous lands is an inexplicable feeling and to be able to capture that joy of return is such a gift. Months later I received a call from Kaeleigh announcing that she and Ben were now engaged and would like me to shoot their engagement session. I was thrilled!!! The day we met up was a blustery late fall day downtown where the wind was crazy and the skies were gray…but capturing their love was so heartwarming! We had a blast and enjoyed getting to know each other. These sessions are always so fun because young couples are at the cusp of beginning their life together….Love is in the air! I was shocked when they asked if I’d travel to Annapolis for their Naval Academy nuptials. I was humbled and felt blessed to be asked to be a part of their special day.
